All adults are eligible for the vaccine and 13 percent of the state has now been vaccinated.

Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins reported 506 new positive COVID-19 cases, from Sunday and Monday, as well as 12 deaths. “Today was also the first day for anyone in Texas to have the possibility of getting a vaccine without a pre-existing condition if they are over the age of 16,” he tweeted. 


The CDC extends the ban on renter evictions to June 30. The moratorium, which was to expire this past Wednesday, is to protect renters out of concern of displaced families and individuals would further spread coronavirus. The Dallas Morning News has more. 


Nearly 13 percent of Texas has been fully vaccinated according to a report from the Texas Tribune. Data from the Texas Department of Health Service shows that more than 10 million vaccinations have been registered in the state with even more expected. 


Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation’s top infectious disease expert, says it’s “conceivable” that parents will be able to send their kids to camps and playgrounds this summer, even without a COVID-19 vaccine. In the story from WFAA, Fauci stated that at the current pace of vaccinations, the rate of COVID-19 infections per day will likely reach a “much lower level.”
