Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins reported 1,296 new COVID-19 cases on Friday and Saturday, and 28 deaths. As of this week, Dallas County will no longer report COVID-19 numbers on Sundays, and will roll Sunday’s numbers into Monday.

The Dallas Morning News reports that Dallas County is about to receive 6,000 doses of Johnson & Johnson’s single dose vaccine. The FDA approved the vaccine Friday, and the doses will be targeted to vulnerable populations that might have trouble returning for a second dose.

The U.S. House passed a $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief package, which means Americans making less than $75,000 would receive a $1,400 stimulus check, and unemployment insurance was boosted from $300 to $400. The Texas Tribune has more.

Jenkins says that the state of Texas is diverting 56,000 vaccine doses away from Dallas County, which is impacting those who need it most, WFAA reports. The state says that because the federal government is running vaccine locations and supplying their own vaccine, the state is not sending Dallas more doses in addition to the federal allotment.
