Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins reports 412 new COVID-19 cases and 18 deaths on Tuesday.
Those with mild COVID cases may still experience symptoms for months, according to a new study, reports the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. The University of Washington researchers said although small, their study, based on their knowledge, is the “longest follow-up symptom assessment after COVID-19 infection.”
In Dallas County, almost half of Black residents live further than one mile from a vaccination site reports WFAA. The study from the University of Pittsburgh reports that the longer commutes to get a vaccine will be another barrier for Black communities to receive immunizations, and could widen the existing health care gap between Black and white North Texans.
Texas expects to see 1.5 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine arrive this week, reports the Texas Tribune. As of Monday, 3.1 million Texans have received at least one dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines.
