COVID-19 cases surge state-wide. Dallas County and Texas experience record-breaking case totals.

Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins reported 1,304 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday. There were three deaths of individuals in their 60s through 80s.


Over one million Texans have tested positive for COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic. With many major cities experiencing surging cases, Texas now has the highest COVID-19 case total across the nation, NBC News reported.


Dallas County saw record breaking case totals this week. With 1,401 confirmed COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, the county experienced the highest single-day case total since the beginning of the pandemic in March, The Dallas Morning News reported.


COVID-19 cases continue to surge statewide. Texas reported 10,800 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, an increase compared to the previous day. Over 90 new deaths were confirmed while 6,000 Texans remain hospitalized, similar to previous days this week, The Texas Tribune reported.
