Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins reported 596 new cases on Tuesday, with no deaths. “Remember, holidays are about making memories and spending time with people that you love and we can do that without exposing ourselves to people outside our home this Halloween,” he tweeted.

Parkland Health and Hospital System CEO Dr. Fred Cerise spoke with the Dallas Morning News about navigating the latest spike in COVID-19 and motivating his exhausted employees. He was Louisiana’s health secretary during Hurricane Katrina, so knows what it is like to be in dire straits.

Even as cases spike in West Texas, many in Lubbock are living their lives normally, with no concern about masking or social distancing. The Texas Tribune has more.

In Dallas, four bars have had their liquor licenses suspended by the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission, the only four in the entire state for violating capacity and social distancing measures, KERA reports.
