Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins reported 493 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday. There was one death of a woman in her 80s with no underlying health conditions.
Dallas County reverts back to red threat level due to increases COVID-19 cases. The change follows only six weeks after the county’s move to the lower orange level, The Dallas Morning News reported.
Over 4,000 Texans are currently hospitalized due to COVID-19. The increase marks a slight increase in hospitalization following consistent rates in September, The Texas Tribune reported.
Over 17,000 deaths have been confirmed in Texas since the beginning of the pandemic. If rising case rates continue, Dallas County could face risk of returning to “Stay Safe, Stay Home” threat levels, KERA reported.
