Allen fire chief participates in vaccine-trial as hospitalizations in Texas decline to occupying only 6.8 percent of hospital beds.

Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins reported 276 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, with 110 from previous months. “It’s unknown how many of those ‘new’ cases were actually from tests in August,”Jenkins tweeted.


Allen Fire Department Chief Jonathan Boyd volunteered to participate in a COVID-19 vaccine trial study, The Dallas Morning News reported. The Dallas research site is one of 90 across the nation testing the Phase 3 trial vaccine.


There were 1,416 new COVID-19 cases in Texas on Tuesday. There were 443 less hospitalizations than last week, occupying 6.8 percent of hospital beds, The Texas Tribune reported.


Tarrant County reported 257 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday with six deaths. The deaths were all of individuals in their 70s, 80s, and 90s. Tarrant County has now reached a total of 43,055 reported cases.
