Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins reported 794 new COVID-19 cases over the weekend, though Sunday’s total included only 127 new cases from August and 233 from previous months. There were no new deaths on Sunday.

The Dallas Morning News surveyed seven college campuses across the state, and found that only the University of Dallas was testing every student as they arrived on campus, meaning asymptomatic students could be silent spreaders. Several campuses around the country have gone to fully remote learning after COVID-19 outbreaks.

In Tarrant County, there were 13 new deaths on Saturday and 237 new cases, KERA reports. See more on the numbers here.

The Texas Tribune spoke with five health experts on the 850,000 COVID-19 cases that were in the state of Texas’ backlog, distorting the true number of cases throughout the summer. Governor Greg Abbott said the data coming out now is more accurate.
