Uber launches prescription drug delivery service. Dallas ISD goes virtual for the first month.

Uber is launching a pilot program in Seattle and Dallas to deliver drugs to people’s homes in a partnership with NimbleRx. Customers must sign up for NimbleRx through their local pharmacy and select Uber as the delivery option. They have already delivered 15,000 prescriptions since the spring, The Dallas Morning News reports.

Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins reported 308 new COVID-19 cases and three deaths on Thursday. After a meeting between Dallas ISD and County Officials, the school district opted to go completely virtual for the first month of school, which begins on September 8. “A vote of the school board of the school will be necessary to extend for any further delay of in-person instruction,” he tweeted.

Though there aren’t specific numbers of cases, the state of Texas has published some information about COVID-19 cases in childcare facilities. The data showed that there were cases in 1,867 child care facilities, summer camps, and before- and after-school programs in 127 counties, The Texas Tribune reports.
