According to City of Frisco planning documents, Medical City Frisco is planning a 520,000-square-foot expansion to its hospital campus, including a 77,000-square-foot tower planned to begin summer of 2021.
The expansion includes two hospital buildings, a medical office building, and a parking garage on the 10-acre property, according to documents filed with the city. The two buildings are set to be eight and ten stories tall, and will be surrounded by a courtyard and landscaping. The 77,000-square-foot addition includes the first two stories of one of the two hospital buildings. The expansion has been part of the facility’s master plan since the hospital was purchased four years ago. The first-phase tower will be connected to the hospital on the north side and will provide more ICU, neurosurgery, spine care, and orthopedics.
Earlier this year, Medical City Frisco named its own CEO after sharing leadership with Medical City Plano. Frisco has seen massive hospital expansion in recent years, with Texas Health, Scottish Rite of Texas, and Baylor Scott & White all building there. Children’s Health and Cook Children’s have plans to expand in the area as well.
