Baylor Scott & White Health was ranked seventh in the country on Viqtory’s 2020 list of Military Friendly Employers for Government/Non-Profit organizations. The list evaluates organizations that emphasize recruiting, hiring, retention, advancement, support and policy compliance.

Many of Baylor Scott & White’s facilities are located near Fort Hood and other military properties, and the organization participates in Hiring Our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program, which helps transition veterans to civilian careers. The Baylor Scott & White Research Institute’s research center called the Warriors Research Institute is working on new treatment and improving care for military veterans and emergency responders as well.

“We’re committed to serving those who have so honorably served us by participating in a number of employment initiatives for vets, as well as supporting our colleagues who serve in the Reserves and National Guard,” says Guwan Jones, chief diversity officer & vice president of human resources, Baylor Scott & White Health via release. “We’re pleased to be recognized for our efforts through this designation and look forward to building on them.”

HCA Healthcare, the parent company of Medical City Dallas, and Health Care Services Corp., which owns Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, are both listed as bronze level on the list. Methodist Health System and McKesson Corp. are also on the Military Friendly list.
