Baylor Scott and White Out as Operator of Carrollton Hospital

|

Sana Healthcare has entered an agreement with Metrocrest Hospital Authority to operate MHA’s 216-bed acute care hospital in Carrollton, which was known as Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Carrollton since 2009. The agreement will go into effect on March 1, 2020.

“Sana Healthcare shares our vision of maintaining and growing a true community hospital to serve one of the fastest growing areas of North Texas,” said Charles B. Heath, MHA Chief Executive Officer via release. “Sana executives bring decades of senior level experience to this opportunity and have a vision for utilizing and expanding services at the hospital.”

MHA owns a number of other facilities in the area, including medical office buildings, an assisted living facility, a skilled nursing and rehab center, and an imaging center. Sana focuses on revitalizing and operating hospitals in mid-sized and large markets.

“After touring the hospital and visiting with physicians and staff, it was evident that Sana will have the opportunity to build on a foundation of locally focused quality care close to our patients’ homes and businesses,” said Mark Meyers, Sana Chief Executive Officer, via release. “We will be moving some of our senior level executives to Texas to join the outstanding professionals already in place in Carrollton.”

“We are thankful for the continued commitment of our employees and physicians for providing exceptional patient care to the Carrollton community over the past decade,” said John McWhorter, Chief Operating Officer, Baylor Scott and White Health. “We look forward to working with the MHA and Sana to make this a seamless transition.”
