BCBS of Texas Expands Medicare Advantage Network

After a Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services authorization, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas will expand its Medicare Advantage network next year. CollinDallasDentonTarrant, and Travis will be added to BCBSTX’s Medicare Advantage HMO plan, with fifteen other counties added to the PPO plan for a total of 35 counties. 

The addition will add options for consumers during the Medicare Annual Election Period, which runs from October 15 to December 7. The HMO expansion will include $0 premiums, $0 PCP visits, cost free transportation for travel to/from doctors’ visits, over-the-counter quarterly mail order benefit, cost free SilverSneakers gym membership and more.

In Texas the PPO expansion will be in Atascosa, Bandera, Comal, Cooke, Fannin, Guadalupe, Hill, Johnson, Jendall, Llano, Medica, Navarro, Rockwall, Wilson, and Wise counties.
