Prism Health North Texas and Uptown Physicians Group Join Forces Against HIV

|

Prism Health North Texas and Uptown Physicians Group are teaming up to expand access and specialty care for those living with HIV, at risk for HIV, or other care needs. Prism Health North Texas is a nonprofit whose mission is to provide care for those living with HIV/AIDS in North Texas, and Uptown Physicians Group has been practicing for 30 years in Dallas, specializing in treatment of infectious and sexually transmitted diseases.

Both locations will maintain the same location, staff and providers, as well as name and branding. PHNT has the opportunity to benefit from UPG’s expertise with health insurance and reimbursement while providing help with care coordination and financial assistance capabilities for patients. As a part of the deal, Uptown Physicians Group will now be a nonprofit organization.

“Prism Health North Texas is very excited for the opportunity to partner with Uptown Physicians Group to enhance the comprehensive care and treatment for all patients,” said Dr. John Carlo, CEO of Prism Health North Texas via release. “I am honored to be a part of another practice that is intent on focusing on the best patient care available.”

Prism Health has been caring for those with HIV and AIDS since 1986, and provides medical care, testing, prevention, research, outreach, education, and case management. They will be partnering with UPG to create health community centers focused on LGBTQ patients in North Texas.

“Uptown Physicians Group believes that joining forces with Prism Health North Texas will bring great opportunities to the North Texas community,” said Dr. David Lee, founder and president of Uptown Physicians Group via release. “We are making a local effort to increase the access to medical care without lowering the quality of care, while at the same time working to be sustainable in the future. We are thrilled to partner with Prism Health North Texas to pursue these common goals through our new partnership.”
