North Texas Home to the Fortune’s Top Two Employers in Healthcare

Fortune has released is 2019 list of of Best Places to Work in Healthcare and Bio Pharma, and Texas Health Resources took the top spot followed by Encompass Health at number two. This is Texas Health’s fifth consecutive year to top the list.

The two organizations have been recognized for numerous categories by Fortune, including the best place to work for women, best place to work in Texas, and Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For. The list included other North Texas healthcare employers Texas Rehabilitation Hospital at number 15, and Baylor Scott and White Health at number 34

Rankings are based on surveys and feedback from more than 95,000 employees across the country surveyed by Great Place to Work. Commenters appreciated the faith-based nature of Baylor and how they cared for their staff as well as their patients, and Encompass employees commented on the approachability of the leadership there.

“These rankings are a tribute to our employees and the devotion they pour into their daily work. The remarkable care that we’re able to offer consumers across all of our access points is the direct result of our phenomenal workforce,” said Barclay Berdan, FACHE, chief executive officer of Texas Health via release.

“Maintaining a great place to work is a constant endeavor. Our unwavering commitment to making improvements and refining practices stems from our passion to listen and put feedback into action,” added Michelle Kirby, executive vice president and Texas Health’s chief people officer via release.
