The Best Places to Have a Baby in North Texas

DFWChild and CollinChild readers have named several North Texas area hospitals to as the best places to have a baby. Around 9,000 participated in the survey.

In Dallas County, Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas was named the best, in Tarrant County, Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth took home the title, and Denton Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Denton was named the best place to have a child.

THR hospitals delivered 24,000 babies in 2018.

“To be named Best Place in Dallas County to have a baby reaffirms the wide scope of services we offer to consumers along with the exceptional care we provide,” said Suzanne Murphy, director of nursing for women, infants and children at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas, via release.

Medical City Plano has been voted the “Best Place to Have a Baby” by readers in CollinChild magazine. After polling 9,000 mothers last year, the facility was voted number one because “it really feels more like a hotel than a hospital.”

The hospital also received top marks from the magazine for having the best childbirth classes.

“Medical City Plano is honored to be recognized by our community for our commitment to providing exceptional, high-quality and specialized care for mothers and babies,” Medical City Plano CEO Charles Gressle said via release. “It is our privilege to help patients design a unique birthing experience just right for each mother, baby and family, while also offering the highest levels of medical care.”

“Moms stay loyal to Medical City Plano, thanks to a strong postpartum community that offers a weekly meet-up group, a Facebook forum moderated by a registered nurse and classes in infant care, CPR, breast pumping and feeding, plus prenatal yoga,” according to the CollinChild article. “Labor rooms are equipped with adjustable lighting and Spotify access so that Mom can DJ her own delivery, while the spacious and private postpartum suites each feature memory-foam beds, a bathroom with tub, a kitchenette, a bedroom and a lounge area.”
