Health Wildcatters, a Dallas-based healthcare accelerator, will be hosting a competition meant to address problems facing the healthcare called the Texas Healthcare Challenge.

On February 8-9, students and professionals are invited to problem solve, design, code, and pitch solutions around home health, managing chronic conditions, health insurance, nursing shortages, and more.  Cash and in-kind prizes will total $10,000 for the event, with a panel of judges selecting the best solutions based on the pitches.

“Health Wildcatters, through our top-ranked accelerator program, is on the forefront of health innovation nationally and beyond,” said Health Wildcatters CEO, Dr. Hubert Zajicek via release. “We’ve historically only worked with startups, but we believe the talent pool in DFW is rich and plentiful with innovators waiting for their opportunity, which is the reason we’ve created the Texas Healthcare Challenge.”

“We believe fostering opportunities for entrepreneurs and small business owners to innovate and challenge the status quo is vital to the progressive growth and improvement of the healthcare industry,” said Ryan Gray, director of field marketing at Spectrum Reach via release. “As consumers continue to take more ownership of their health, we know communication companies such as Spectrum Reach will play a fundamental role in connecting consumers to their providers, insurers and personal wellness efforts.”

The event is sponsored by advertising sales and production services company, Spectrum Reach, insurance giant Cigna, healthcare technology and services company SignalPath, and the Southwestern Medical Foundation.

Registration is open until January 24 and is free. Learn more at
