Baylor Scott and White in Waxahachie Has a New President

By |

Will Turner is the new president of Baylor Scott & White – Waxahachie as of December of last year, according to the hospital’s website. Turner has been with Baylor since 2012, most recently serving as the interim leader of operations for Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Carrollton.

In an interview with the Waxahachie Daily Light, Turner discussed his move from Carrollton to Waxahachie. “We will be a lot closer to family, and I think this is a lot more our speed,” Turner said. “Gosh, like I said, the reputation of this facility, the culture. You know, obviously, it’s a beautiful, new facility, but the sense of community and the awesome work that goes on here every day just really is an exciting opportunity to step in.”

The Waxahachie facility has 129 beds and around 1,200 employees, and Turner told the Daily Light he is“working hard to lower the cost of care, making healthcare more affordable. Some of the main things we try to do is be efficient with the resources that we have. The intent is to make it cheaper for the patient.”

Prior to working at the Carrollton hospital, Turner was in pharmaceutical sales, and began his career with Baylor at the Hillcrest campus in Waco, the Daily Light reports. His wife is a registered nurse.
