Parkland Health & Hospital System has been re-verified as a burn center by the American Burn Association and the Committee on Trauma of the American College of Surgeons.
Verification involves a stringent process that requires that a hospital is able to provide care from the pre-hospital phase through the rehab process. Parkland remains the only verified burn center in North Texas and one of just 62 in North America.
The Parkland Burn Center was established in 1962, and it’s the second largest civilian burn center in the country. About 2,200 patients go through the center each year.
