A total of 16 hospitals within Baylor Scott & White Health were either ranked or considered “high performing” in the latest rendition of U.S. News & World Report’s Best Hospitals listings—more than any other hospital system in Texas.
The system’s flagship campus in Dallas, Baylor University Medical Center, was nationally ranked in Ear, Nose & Throat (No. 40) and Gastroenterology & GI Surgery (42). Baylor Scott & White The Heart Hospital – Plano also came in No. 21 in the U.S. for Cardiology and Heart Surgery.
BUMC came in second to UT Southwestern Medical Center as the top hospital in Dallas-Fort Worth.
The rankings are based on an evaluation of 4,500 hospitals across the country.
“We are honored to be recognized once again on this prestigious list for the outstanding care and service our people provide patients each day,” Baylor Scott & White CEO Jim Hinton said in a statement. “This recognition is a direct reflection of their commitment to those we serve as we work to deliver safe, quality, high-value, affordable care with an exceptional experience.”
