Texas Health Resources will plant $68 million in its Allen campus, putting up a three-story patient tower that will add 75 medical and surgical beds.
The construction at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Allen is set to begin next month and be ready to open by the spring of 2020. It’ll add a couple of new operating suites to the mix, as well as a second cardiac catheterization lab.
The tower tacks on 108,000 square feet to Texas Health Allen, a 35-acre campus that opened in 2000. It has since added a medical office building and breast center, expanded the ER, added sports medicine services, and added a surgical nursing unit.
“This new expansion will enable Texas Health Allen to offer more services, supply much-needed bed capacity and signal to our growing community that we are committed to improving their health and well-being for many years to come,” Texas Health Allen Presdient Jared Shelton said in a statement.
The project feels a lot like a lower-scale version of the one Texas Health is pursuing at its Fort Worth campus, which will get a $300 million facelift that includes a new, nine-story tower and upgraded surgery suites.
