Texas Health Dallas Recognized For Heart Attack Treatment

|

Last week, Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas received the American College of Cardiology’s NCDR ACTION Registry Silver Performance Achievement Award for 2018. The award recognizes Presby Dallas’ success in implementing a high standard of care for heart attack patients and reaching an aggressive goal with regard to treating those patients.

ACTION Registry establishes a national standard of care for patients with coronary artery disease, specifically high-risk heart attack patients. To receive the award, the hospital had to demonstrate achievement in ACTION Registry for four consecutive quarters and performed at the top level of standards.

According to the Center for Disease Control, over 700,000 Americans suffer from heart attacks each year.

“With one person having a heart attack every 40 seconds in the U.S., we have to be ready to treat this life-threatening condition,” Dr. Aurora Estevez, chief medical officer at Texas Health Dallas, said in a statement. “This prestigious recognition further exemplifies our commitment to provide quality care each and every day.”

Texas Health Dallas is one of 95 hospitals nationwide chosen for the Silver Performance Achievement Award.
