Baylor Scott & White’s Fort Worth, Dallas Campuses Experience Baby Booms

|

A whopping 48 babies were born at Baylor Scott & White All Saints Medical Center – Fort Worth during a 41-hour span from June 26 to June 28.

That compares to the hospital’s average of about 15 a day (5,700 total in 2017), which already makes it the busiest labor & deliver unit within the Baylor Scott & White Health system. The facility was well-equipped for the rush, with 64 postpartum rooms and 19 L&D rooms, although it did call in extra staff.

That stretch follows a previous rush at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, where 42 babies entered the world over 48 hours from June 17 to June 19. At one point during that rush, nine moms were ready for delivery at the same time. The nine babies were born within a 40-minute span.
