Freestanding ER Operator To Open Location At DFW Airport

|

Frisco-based Code 3 Emergency Partners will open a facility equipped for things like CT scans, ultrasounds, and X-rays at DFW Airport next month. The freestanding emergency room and urgent care center will be 8,125 square feet and open on June 21. (Update: The company tells me they received earlier approval and opened on June 1, with a grand opening still scheduled for June 21.)

Code 3, which operates six urgent care centers and five freestanding ERs across DFW, will handle some of the more than 65 million passengers that pass through DFW Airport each year. The location will have a lab and pharmacy.

Code 3 already operates an urgent care and pharmacy at the airport, according to its website.

Code 3’s CEO, Dr. Carrie de Moor, generated some healthy message board discussion in this space about a year ago when she wrote an opinion piece for D CEO Healthcare about her company’s struggles to secure fair in-network contracts with insurers.
