Dr. John McDonald, chief medical officer at Medical City North Hills, was named Medical Staff Leader of the Year by the Credentialing Resource Center.
The CRC’s Achievement Awards honor medical staff leaders who make a difference in their organizations. The award that McDonald snagged goes to “an enthusiastic, agile, and forward-thinking vice president of medical affairs (VPMA), chief medical officer (CMO), medical staff officer, committee member, department chair, or similar leader.”
McDonald has been CMO at the North Richland Hills-based hospital since April 2014, and has also served as medical director of its lab since 1991. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Texas Christian University and did his residency at UT Southwestern Medical Center, in addition to Kansas University Medical Center.
“Dr. McDonald’s contributions over 26 years speak volumes at how successful he was in his efforts,” said CRC Conference Committee member Carol Cairns, in a statement. “His continuous involvement in the medical affairs of the organization reflects a long time ‘calling’ and commitment to improve patient care.”
