Dallas Group Honors CEO of Parkland Center for Clinical Innovation

|

The Community Council of Greater Dallas has awarded Dr. Steve Miff, president and CEO of the Dallas-based Parkland Center for Clinical Innovation, its 2017 Social Innovator of the Year Award.

The Parkland Center for Clinical Innovation is a not-for-profit healthcare analytics R&D organization that aims to create “connected communities where every health outcome is positive.” The center has received more than $50 million in grants focused on developing and deploying cutting-edge technologies connecting communities and Parkland Health & Hospital System.

Its Information Exchange Portal, for example, connects healthcare providers and community-based groups to coordinate communication with and care for individuals. With the patients’ consent, providers use the portal to share relevant medical and social information with homeless shelters, food banks, and other nonprofits.

“Steve has a considerable gift to combine innovative technology approaches with a deep understanding of the social and health challenges we face in Dallas to identify solutions and resolve ongoing community challenges,” Ken Goodgames, the council’s CEO, said in a news release. “I consider it a privilege to collaborate with him and his team. His work is game changing!”

The award will be presented to Miff at the council’s annual Nonprofit & Community Leadership Awards Luncheon on Thursday, Nov. 2, at Mockingbird Towers.
