Texas Health Resources Recognized for Work and Employee Health

|

Texas Health Resources has been recognized by the American Heart Association for its workplace health programs and employee heart health. Its “gold level” achievement highlights the health system’s “significant and continued steps of promoting a culture of health in the workplace.” This is the second consecutive year Texas Health has received the award.

Sixty seven percent of qualifying companies received gold, silver, or bronze recognition by the AHA. Companies were required to complete an index assessment, which uses science-based practices to establish a comprehensive view of the workplace health programs. Gold recipients must have achieved a score of 175 points or more, out of a maximum 217 points. The achievement index also measures the overall heart health of a company’s employees using AHA’s scientifically defined guidelines for “ideal heart health.”

Barclay Berdan, CEO of Texas Health, said in a statement: “I am truly proud of the positive impact our programs continue to have on our employees’ health. With sound numbers, we’re able to evaluate new ways to engage our employees and assist them along their well-being journey.”
