Access Healthcare, an end-to-end healthcare revenue cycle and information technology services provider, has named Angela Hickman its vice president of coding operations. This is a newly created position to strengthen Access’ medical coding operations.

In her new position, Hickman will provide leadership to the medical coding services delivery team and oversee new solutions development at Access.

Previously, Hickman served as VP of risk adjustment, strategy, and business development at Lombard, Ill.-based MiraMed Global Services. There, she launched a new line for risk adjustment and medical coding for hierarchical condition categories and data validation audit services, in addition to developing and implementing a 21-module training program in transitioning medical coders.

Anurag Jain, chairman at Access, said that Hickman’s “experience in supporting physician and hospital medical coding processes, risk adjustment and HCC Coding, and training and development of medical coders, will help us infuse greater scaleability in our medical coding operations.”

Hickman earned her bachelors degree in psychology from Purdue University and a masters degree in health information management from the College of St. Scholastica.
