California-based pharmaceutical distributor McKesson is partnering with Plano’s ZeOmega to bring its population health system to more than 3,700 American hospitals and care sites.

ZeOmega’s Jiva platform, which helps large companies manage the health of its population, will be integrated into McKesson’s cloud-based medical review service, known as InterQual Connect. The two say that the partnership will help McKesson’s clients have more data to send payers to document evidence-based care, striking away redundant data entry and other time-wasting must-dos.

“We are pleased to welcome ZeOmega as our first InterQual Connect Alliance Partner,” said Nilo Mehrabian, vice president of product management, Decision Management, at McKesson Health Solutions. “This integration aligns Jiva users with over 3,700 hospitals that trust InterQual Criteria, the industry’s largest provider footprint for medical necessity decision support. Jiva’s reach across both payer and provider organizations presents an attractive opportunity for this partnership to drive provider engagement.”

Financial information was not disclosed.
