Acute- and long-term-care hospitals will see small increases in Medicare payments beginning in 2014, under a proposed payment schedule released Friday by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Services.
Changes to reimbursements for centers that cater to the uninsured is already drawing fire from public hospitals, Modern Healthcare reports.
Proposed regulations in the 1,424-page document also include new penalties for centers that fail to curb hospital-acquired conditions.
