Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare Corp. has signed a new four-year deal with Humana Inc. The agreement ensures that members of Humana’s Medicare and PPO, HMO, POS, and individual plans will have in-network access to services at all hospitals owned and operated by Tenet subsidiaries. The renewal took effect Aug. 1.

The new contract “is designed to expand our market share at key Tenet hospitals in exchange for pricing modifications that are financially advantageous to both parties, said Clint Hailey, Tenet’s chief managed care officer, in a statement.

With more than 600,000 hospitals and providers, Louisville, Ky.-based Humana operates one of the largest networks in the country.
