Extend Health Inc., which operates the country’s largest private Medicare exchange, has opened a second service center in Richardson. It plans to hire another 200 employees, bringing its total local jobs base to more than 500.
“Richardson is a great place to find highly skilled employees,” said Bryce Williams, managing director of Extend Health for Towers Watson, in a statement. “Having a second service center here will allow us to serve our customers well and grow with them. We have a long-standing, deep commitment to the Richardson community, and we look forward to expanding our employee base in the greater Dallas area.”
Bryce co-founded Extend Health in 1994 in San Mateo, Calif. The company was acquired this past spring by New York-based Towers Watson in a $435 million deal.
Extend Health’s decision to open a second service center in Richardson and create more than 500 jobs “is a testament to our workforce and business-friendly environment,” said the city’s mayor, Bob Townsend.
The company is seeking to hire benefits advisers and customer care representatives. Interested applicants with current life and health insurance licenses—as well as those who would like to become licensed—may apply online.
Extend Health’s new service center is at 1122 Alma Road. The company also is expanding its Houston operation, bringing the total number of Texas employees to 700, and in South Jordan, Utah. All in all, it plans to create more than 1,000 new jobs this year.
