You’ve heard of Simone De La Rue. She’s the celeb-loved trainer behind Body By Simone who’s sculpted Chrissy Teigen, Taylor Swift, Sandra Bullock, and her fair share of Victoria Secret Angels. She was a trainer on Khloe Kardashian’s “Revenge Body.” She’s kind of a big deal, but she also promotes a laid-back approach to fitness, with classes that make students feel like they’re “dancing with their girlfriends.”

Later this month, she’s bringing her beloved dance cardio class to Dallas for a full-day of fitness, wellness panels, a superfood-filled lunch, and an athleisure fashion show at the Westin Galleria Dallas. But before the former Broadway dancer makes her way to Texas on September 24, we caught up with the trainer for a few fitness tips and De La Rue details to tide us over until then.

You’ve developed some amazing moves to help people avoid injuries while working out. Is there a simple example of one that we should always keep in mind?

People often strain their neck during ab crunches. I always suggest keeping the head heavy in your hands, imagine an apple underneath your chin and no strain in the neck. Let your abdominals do the work and not your head.

Do you have any go-to snacks or supplements?

I always prefer to eat real food rather than a protein bar. I am a big fan of a boiled egg as a snack. Boil up a few the night before and leave them in the fridge so they are easy to grab and take with you in the morning.

Your program has a definite “girl power” vibe. What do you love most about training women?

I love inspiring women to be the best version of themselves. Physical strength is the product of the hard work, inner strength is the product of self-love and acceptance. Working out and feeling good in your own skin is the best feeling in the world. And to see my clients grow and blossom is what I love most about my job.

What’s your favorite song to work out to right now?

Real Life (Solarado Remix) by Duke Dumont.

Have you been to Dallas before? What are your favorite things to do here?

Yes, once before. I grabbed lunch at True Food Kitchen at The Plaza at Preston Center. Then I worked out and went for cryotherapy at the Dallas Wellness Center.

What can Dallasites expect from the Sweat Showcase later this month?

A fun joyous sweat session! A mixture of dance cardio followed by toning and  sculpting. This high intensity workout will leave you dripping in sweat whilst burning calories, building core strength and creating long lean muscle.
