You probably didn’t need to watch season 17 of The Bachelor to guess that the season’s star Sean Lowe, who hails from Dallas, spent a lot of air time sans shirt. But if you didn’t tune in, you might have missed the budding romance between Lowe and free-spirited Catherine Giudici.

After a proposal and more recently, the couple’s nationally televised nuptials, Sean and Catherine have settled down in Dallas, where they spend a lot of their time doing normal newlywed stuff like working out and playing with their dogs.  We have the skinny on how the two stay in shape—no surprise Catherine’s secret includes lots of giggling.

D Magazine: If you’ve got only 20 minutes to work out, what’s your routine?
Sean: Stair climber. If I’m running short on time, I think cardio is more important than weights.
Catherine: Step mill, squats and pushups. Stretching is super valuable to me too, so I try to make time for that.

What’s your typical daily workout routine?
S: I’m in the gym for an hour and a half. One hour of fast-paced weights and half an hour of the treadmill or stair climber.
C: I don’t work out every day, but I enjoy barre and yoga. If I follow Sean to the gym, I’m doing step mill, legs and pull-ups until he’s ready to go. I learned a lot from my previous trainer Tracy Nelson, but I’m still a pretty big mess when it comes to working out at the gym. (Don’t tell Tracy!)

What’s your usual breakfast?
S: Six egg whites, six ounces of chicken and a cup of oatmeal.
C: On the weekends, I’m a big-breakfast-kind-of gal, but weekdays are light. If vegan yogurt is in the house, I’ll have that with some nuts and a big glass of water.

What is your go-to cheat meal?
C & S: We use our new Kenmore Elite Grill that we received during our Sears Outdoor Living Celebrity Challenge for healthy and cheat meals. Shay Shull has some great options like her BBQ Pizza on the Grill and Grilled Pound Cake with Peaches for dessert. You can’t cheat without something sweet.

Name a song from your workout playlist.
S: I listen to Pandora workout radio, which has a lot of fast-tempo music.
C: Sean isn’t the biggest rap fan, so I get my fix when I have headphones on or I’ll listen to the Rihanna Pandora station. Naturally, I want to dance to whatever comes on and I will as long as it’s upbeat.

What are your favorite restaurants in Dallas?
S: Nowadays, Origin and H&G are at the top of my list. When I want to indulge, I’ll head to Gloria’s Mexican Restaurant.
C: Velvet Taco is pretty awesome and has such a range of flavors. I’ve really have been wanting to try all the restaurants in Dallas so I can have a better idea of what else is here.

How would you define being “healthy” and “fit”?
S: Feeling energized on a day-to-day basis and feeling confident about my overall appearance.
C: Healthy and fit to me means being able to enjoy every day with excitement. I need energy to run around the house with our girls and to giggle uncontrollably at my husband’s corny jokes. It takes a lot of energy to laugh!
