Fort Worth’s Panther City BBQ Says Cafe Stole Smokers. On New Year’s Day, Panther City co-owner Chris Magallanes says a white van hauled off a mobile smoker from behind the restaurant. He tracked it via GPS tag to a parking lot near the DayBreak Café on the city’s north side, whose owner says he has nothing to do with it and plans to file a lawsuit. Other restaurants have reported a white van absconding with trailers from their parking lots; this one’s juicy, and Fort Worth police aren’t talking.

Garland Police Search for 16-Year-Old in Double Murder. It is rare for police to release the identity of a juvenile who is suspected of being involved in a crime. But Garland PD says that Dallas 16-year-old Amancio Anton Noriz is responsible for the shooting deaths of a 17-year-old and 18-year-old on Jan. 14. A judge granted special permission to identify Noriz because of “the severity of the offense.”

The National Weather Service has issued a Dense Fog Advisory until 10 a.m., warning that visibility will be limited in certain areas. Rain will cover about 50 percent of the metro area this afternoon. We’ll get more fog tomorrow, but a day off from rain chances.
