City Council Votes to Up the Bond Package. It’s not official until February 14, but the Council voted 13-1 to add $150 million to the bond package (making it $1.25 billion); Cara Mendelsohn was the only holdout. They also voted to have the bond election in May rather than November. Mayor Eric Johnson missed all of this because he and his Allbirds were posted up in Switzerland.

It’s Gonna Rain. Cold and rainy is my least favorite weather, I think. After that, thanks for asking, I guess I would say “random hailstorm on an otherwise fairly warm summer day.” I don’t know. I haven’t really thought about this very much. Full rankings TK.

Fort Worth Zoo Has a New Giraffe. Korbel was born on January 1, the size of a decent college shooting guard: 6-foot-3, 165 pounds. Maybe more like a combo guard, gunner off the bench. Korbel is even a pretty good name for that specific player: Korbel Davis, four-star recruit from Flower Mound, streaky jumper, can get to the rim whenever he wants.

Uniqlo Coming to North Texas. Decent news if you are a fan of the Japanese apparel retailer, until now mostly with stores on the East Coast, as I am. “Decent” only because it is in, no offense, Arlington—The Parks at Arlington mall, specifically. Maybe some offense.
