Southwest pilots go on strike and expect a rainy Mother’s Day weekend.

Stars Can Close This Thing Out on Saturday. Dallas won 5-2 despite being outshot by nearly nine attempts on goals, which gives them a 3-2 series lead and a chance to move on Saturday evening. David Castillo and Mike Piellucci have the only recap you need.

Southwest Pilots Vote to Strike. They don’t plan to walk out, but 99 percent of the pilots union who took part voted to authorize the strike to push for higher wages. The president and Congress can each put a stop to the act, but Southwest doesn’t anticipate any effect on operations. American Airlines pilots recently went on strike for the same reason.

Officers and Medic Won’t Face Charges After Woman’s Death. LaDamonyon “DeeDee” Hall died while being handcuffed and restrained in an ambulance. Police Chief Eddie Garcia released a nearly 40-minute video of the encounter, which involved officers and Dallas Fire-Rescue paramedics handcuffing her and placing a hood over her head as she screamed and fought. An attorney for her family called the no-bill an “affront to justice.”

Damp Weekend Ahead. Storm chances return this evening and stay through Mother’s Day on Sunday. Expect scattered showers at points throughout the weekend, but nothing severe.
