Mavericks Trade for Kyrie Irving. That escalated quickly. I was going to write about a potential deal on Tuesday, just hitting the vibes. I’ll still do that, just with the potential part removed. The deal: Irving and a Morris Twin for Spencer Dinwiddie (really enjoyed his time here), Dorian Finney-Smith (a truly wonderful story, Mav for life, I already miss him), a 2029 first round pick, and some seconds. Mike has his take up at StrongSide. (Spoiler: he’s not optimistic!) I will save mine for tomorrow, but I will say I think I like it and I also that I have access to the site’s back end and can delete posts.

Richard Marcus, RIP. The son of Mr. Stanley and only the third family member to serve as CEO (and last founding family member to run the company) died at his home in Austin at 84.

Mayor Pro Tem Carolyn Arnold Says Southern Gateway Park is ‘Around $20 Million’ Short. The deck park over I-35E is supposed to open next year. She did not say during her appearance on Texas Politics if the shortfall would delay that. UPDATE: “Not one major donor has backed out of the project. In fact, we are set to announce an additional $3 million in new funding secured since January 1,” park leaders clarified.
