Mayor Rakes In Almost Half a Million. Mayor Eric Johnson is on his way to zooming past the $1.7 million his campaign raised during his first push to office, which was a crowded race with nine challengers. It doesn’t appear like Johnson will face a serious opponent to win his second term. His recent campaign filing report raising $466,000 for a total of $1.2 million cash on hand. Max $5,000 donations have come from folks like Bishop T.D. Jakes; former Mavs coach and ex-Spur Avery Johnson; taxman and GOP donor Brint Ryan and his wife, Amanda; Highland Park Village owner Ray Washburne; Republican donor and investment firm operator Doug Deason and his wife, the podcaster Jacki Pick Deason; and Johnson’s Park Board President appointee and textile company owner Arun Agarwal. As for the City Council, Councilman Chad West in North Oak Cliff’s District 1 has raised $67,000, more than any of his colleagues.

The Snow Only Made it to the Northern Suburbs. Dallas-Fort Worth got a much-needed inch of rain yesterday while most of the snow stayed to the north. Portions of Denton County got as much as 3 inches of snowfall overnight. The closest it came to the metro area was Southlake. The sun comes out today.
