Cowboys Lose. The game started heading toward defeat when Tony Pollard was carted off with an injury. (It was determined later that the running back had broken his fibula.) But it wasn’t absolutely clear that the Cowboys would lose to the 49ers until they decided to punt with a little over two minutes left in the game, apparently hoping to flip the field and live to fight in the fifth quarter. So: season over. Maybe Mike McCarthy’s run as head coach over? Mike will have more shortly over on StrongSide, where I’m sure they’ll be breaking down this game (and what it means) like a fraction over the rest of the week.
Dallas Zoo Reports ‘Unusual’ Death of Endangered Vulture. What the heck in the world is going on over at the Dallas Zoo? A week ago, two habitats were cut open, one of which led to a clouded leopard escaping. And now this: a spokeswoman says the bird’s death does “not appear to be from natural causes.” A necropsy is planned, and additional security and cameras are already in place. For a mid-tier zoo—sorry, love you guys, it’s true—the Dallas Zoo produces more than its fair share of news.
Snow Showers Coming Tuesday? That is what the forecast says, but temps should not dip below freezing and there shouldn’t be much (perhaps none) accumulation. Anyway, I’ll be WFH. Just saving myself a trip to Teams to let my co-workers know I’ll be saving myself two trips involving Dallas drivers and a wintry mix. Speaking of, here is a wintry mix I made a couple years ago.
