Body Found in Grand Prairie Is Missing Woman. Kayla Kelley, 33, was reported missing on January 11 after she stopped contacting friends and family. She’d been in a relationship with a man she believed was named Kevin Brown; he was really Ocastor Ferguson, a 32-year-old married man. Kelley disappeared after the confrontation. Grand Prairie police found her body in a “clandestine grave” in a wooded area. Ferguson was arrested on January 14 on a kidnapping charge. He’s in jail with $1 million bond.

We May Have Made It Through Flu Season. Dr. Philip Huang, the county’s health director, reports that positive flu tests fell from 1,245 to 492 throughout the month of December. That signals a likely peak for a particularly active flu season, when 14.4 percent of tests came back positive.

Amber Alert for McKinney Girls. Police believe 60-year-old Jame Burns has sisters Jessica Burns, 9, and Jennifer Burns, 6, in a black SUV with a white scratch on the front hood. The alert was issued at about 1 a.m., and the girls were last seen near 320 North Central Expressway in McKinney around 6 p.m. on Thursday. McKinney police believe the two are in “grave or immediate danger.”

Time for Your Weekend Forecast. We start Friday at about 40 degrees, but it’ll hike up to the upper 50s this afternoon. Things get a bit chillier on Saturday and Sunday, with lows in the high 30s, and tomorrow has a 30 percent chance of morning showers. Sunday should be partly cloudy, but there is no chance of rain. Enjoy your weekend.
