The man who oversaw the darkest period of the Diocese of Dallas died yesterday. Last year, when I asked him about the Dallas street that is named after him, in violation of city code, he suggested that a Green Beret could shoot him so that the street name might stand. Instead, he died during a cardiac surgery.
