Every quarter or so, we have something we call Happy Hour With an Agenda. We open the doors to the 21st floor of 750 N. St. Paul, serve local beer and good wine, and organize a panel discussion on some topic of relevance to the community. We’ve done these on restaurants, journalism, city elections, homelessness. Tonight, we’re talking public safety with the three biggest names in town: Police Chief U. Renee Hall, District Attorney Faith Johnson, and Sheriff Lupe Valdez. Kathy introduced you to the three panelists earlier this month, but plenty has happened this month and I understand things get busy and you need a nudge. Consider this a nudge.
There is no more pressing issue in Dallas than public safety. Cops are fleeing the department. Morale is in the gutter. The district attorney’s race is about to heat up. It is a perfect time to hear from these three leaders. I’ve seen them chat before, and it’s a joy. Don’t miss them.
And, besides, we’ll have beers. It starts at 6 p.m. at 750 N. St. Paul Ste. 2100. You’ll be out before 8 p.m.
