Cowboys Lose to Packers 31-35. I have yet to watch a game this season, but glanced at the screen yesterday to see two players squinting into that infamous evening glare and wondered how the heck that has still not been remedied. That’s my only thought. Here are more from someone who does watch the games.

Jerry: Cowboys Will Not Disrespect the Flag. After the Cowboys game, and after Pence’s publicity-stunt exit in Indianapolis, Jerry Jones thought it best to make something clear: “If we are disrespecting the flag, then we won’t play. Period. Period…I’m very supportive of the team but under no circumstances—under no circumstances—will the Dallas Cowboys, I don’t care what happens, under no circumstances as an organization or as coaches and players, not support and stand and recognize and honor the flag. Period.” The NFLPA responded with a statement reading, in part: “We should not stifle these discussions and cannot allow our rights to become subservient to the very opinions our Constitution protects. That is what makes us the land of the free and home of the brave.”

Dallas Gay Bar Owner Officially Enters Race for Texas Governor. On Saturday, Jeffrey Payne officially announced his campaign against incumbent Greg Abbott. Strangely, none of the usual local outlets have given the full backstory on this entirely interesting man, so I will send you to the Houston Chronicle to fill you in on Payne’s life, which includes his mother’s suicide, a turn in an orphanage, a run from Hurricane Katrina, and ownership of gay leather bar The Eagle.

FC Dallas Draws with Colorado 1-1. The team just barely improved their playoff chances.
