Yay! Fall!

President Trump Digs Jerry Jones. On Sunday, Jerry said that any of his players who disrespected the flag during the national anthem wouldn’t play. Last night, Trump tweeted: “A big salute to Jerry Jones, owner of the Dallas Cowboys, who will BENCH players who disrespect our Flag. ‘Stand for Anthem or sit for game!’” We’ve got ourselves a bye week, but it sure would be interesting if a bunch of players knelt before the 49ers game. Meanwhile Kevin Sherrington writes: “Imagine Jerry Jones demanding the Cowboys respect women as strongly as he demands respect for flag.”

Chief Hall to Shake Up Police Department. Renee Hall said yesterday that she is going to reorganize the Dallas Police Department, reducing assistant chiefs and deputy chiefs, and putting more cops on patrol, including some detectives. Amber Alert for Sherin Mathews Discontinued. Authorities are still searching for the 3-year-old who was put in an alley at 3 a.m. as punishment for not drinking milk, but Richardson police said that a lack of tips led them to cancel the alert.

Fall Is Here. It’s only getting up to 70 today. Enjoy it. By the end of the week, we’ll be back up into the 90s.
