And he’s the first player from the Dominican Republic to get there. Best moment: his family ran onto the field to celebrate with him. Second best: his Marshawn Lynch impression in the postgame press conference. Also: the Fort Worth Zoo named its male giraffe calf Beltre.

Pudge Rodriguez Inducted Into Baseball Hall of Fame. “Dream big and know that those dreams do sometimes come true because, well, look at me,” the longtime Rangers catcher said in his speech. “The kid hanging from that rope, the kid they call Pudge, I’m here on this stage, in this special place, this baseball heaven called Cooperstown, and my dream has become a reality.”
