Jordan Edwards’ Father Files Suit Against Roy Oliver and Balch Springs PD; Oliver Arrested on Murder Charge. The wrongful death lawsuit was filed Friday, the same day Oliver was arrested. Jordan was laid to rest Saturday.
Three Council Races Set For Runoffs. District 6, 7, and 8 are still up for grabs, with the next vote coming up on June 10. District 7 pits incumbent Tiffinni Young against longtime candidate Kevin Felder. In District 8, it’s incumbent (and mayor pro tem) Erik Wilson against former councilman Tennell Atkins. And in District 6, given questions over mail-in ballots, it’s probably incumbent Monica Alonzo vs. Omar Narvaez, or maybe Alex Dickey. All the other incumbents won, save for Carolyn King Arnold in District 4, who lost her seat to her predecessor, Dwaine Caraway. So Come Go Fishing with Dwaine will have to again be put on hold.

Pizza Delivery Driver Shoots and Kills Attempted Robber. Police say the driver was confronted by two 16-year-olds when he showed up to the delivery address in Mesquite, which turned out to be a vacant home. One fired a weapon, he returned fire. One later died, and he other was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery.
