John Wiley Price Defense Looking at New Evidence. The Price trial recessed yesterday, giving defense attorneys the chance to further review government documents that were turned over late by the prosecution. The defense will be able to question another FBI witness on Monday before calling its witnesses.

Former Police Chiefs Release Letter Blaming Pension System, Low Pay. The letter, which was released yesterday, says the police department is in crisis due to the failing police and fire pension system, which is headed toward insolvency in the next 10 years. Retired police chiefs and others who are pension members signed the letter, which isn’t addressed to a specific person. About 160 police officers left DPD between October of last year and January of this year, most of whom retired. DPD currently has 3,210 officers, but the desired number is 3,600.

7-Eleven Is Adding 1,100 Stores. The Irving-based company struck a $3.3 billion deal with Sunoco to buy 1,100 convenience stores and enter the Houston market. Perhaps more important is the fact that the deal will give 7-Eleven a fully formed taco menu, with Laredo Taco Company and Stripes.

Jordan Spieth Gets Chance to Redeem Himself at the Masters. The 81st Masters begins today at Augusta National, where Spieth—whose Masters attempt last year didn’t go so well—will get a chance to rectify that this time. For the first round today, winds of 20 to 30 mph are expected. It’ll be tough.
