Help Count the Homeless

It's just one night. If you have the time, consider pitching in.

The point-in-time homeless count is about three weeks away, and organizers need volunteers. They already have about 500, but they need 500 more. Here’s why: “The Count, a requirement under federal law, helps communities and the nation as a whole, identify and understand the extent and nature of homelessness, changing trends in this area, and the measure of our success in ending homelessness.” Details:

When? Thursday night, January 26, 2017, 8:00pm-1:00am

What? The annual Homeless Count

Where? First United Methodist Church of Dallas, and Wilshire Baptist Church.

How Many Do We Need? 1,000 volunteers, registered as teams of 3-5 persons

Who Can Count? Anyone 18 years or older. This event makes for an excellent short term group service project.

What Else? Spread the word, online, using #dallascount2017 (all the info is pinned to the top of our Facebook and Twitter) and offline, using this flyer.
