I don’t know how long this sign proclaiming that the Sixth Floor Museum Store + Cafe proudly serves Henry’s Ice Cream. I’ve passed that corner in my downtown wanderings, but had never noticed it, until today.
I guess whomever cooked this up figured they were honoring his life? I’m not that surprised, because the city tends to be sort of tin-eared when it comes to this sort of thing. But I wouldn’t expect it from an enterprise directly associated with presenting the assassination and its fallout with context and a degree of sensitivity.
You maybe think, Whatever, it’s a sign advertising ice cream and it’s harmless. I don’t know. It’s just a little flip for my tastes and I guess I’m going to be a dad about it.
